Global Reasoning Challenge exists to give students a way to test the thinking skills that matter most right now, wherever they live and whatever curriculum they follow.
Logic and reasoning connect mathematics, language, science, and everyday decision-making. They shape how we draw conclusions, weigh evidence, and solve unfamiliar problems — skills that matter more, not less, as information becomes cheap and abundant. GRC gives students the opportunity to challenge their reasoning skills and discover a subject that most school curricula never test directly.
The competition is deliberately syllabus-free: instead of rewarding memorized material, it rewards clear thinking under pressure, in six domains that show up constantly outside the classroom.
Comparing GRC to established, subject-specific olympiads can be misleading — GRC does not intend to replace those competitions or their national variations, and actively encourages students to take part in them too. Instead, GRC is a supplementary program aimed at students who are just beginning to explore logic and reasoning, prioritizing accessibility so that students of every skill level have somewhere to start.
GRC is an independent educational program. Its team and technical infrastructure are distributed globally, funded by sponsors and partners together with the Semi-Final Round registration fee, with financial aid available for participants who need it. See Partners and Financial Aid for details.
